The November 5th "Workday in the Garden" was a great success. We were able to accomplish so much that to the help of several teachers, parents, and family members. Thank you!!
In the Active Learning Garden we now have covers over our beds to protect the rapidly growing plants from the cold. In our Memorial Reading Garden, two fall/winter-blooming camellias have been planted; the entire shrub area on that end mulched; and the Zen Garden has been started. The area for planting the spring blooming Camellias has been prepared, and the 5 Senses Remembrance Garden has been planted. This plot is now ready to receive memory stones from students who are going through grief. The lattice surrounds for the AC units are under construction and will be installed after a couple more work sessions. Memorial stones for Ms. Sobomehin and Mr. Monroe are in the process of being ordered, as is the sundial and pedestal. Stay in tune for more garden updates and please visit our Volunteer Sign Up page if you'd like to get involved! Thanks to our great Going Green Garden Club who help to water and weed the vegetable garden beds. It has been one month since the veggies were planted and they are growing strong!
